AT THE INTERSECTION OF POSSIBILITIES
Connecting ideas, people, and intelligent systems.
從設計出發,以程式實現,讓科技走入真實場域。

陳家興 Chia-Hsing Chen, Ph.D.
My work sits at the intersection of interaction design, programming, data visualization, smart spaces, IoT, and artificial intelligence. I transform emerging technologies into interactive systems that can be understood, experienced, and applied in real-world environments.

From design thinking to computational thinking.
Programming is a medium.
Ideas become experiences.
Interaction design students should understand how systems are
built, connected, and deployed—not only how their interfaces look.
Build programming fundamentals through progressive practice in code reading, modification, debugging, system integration, and interactive prototyping.
Learn AI principles and limitations. Define requirements, decompose problems, set constraints, and verify generated results through tests, human review, and error tracking.
A hands-on learning path for interaction design students.

DCDI LAB · PROPOSED
A proposed lab centered on programming education for interaction design students, generative AI-assisted learning, and industry practice. The aim is to help students without a computer science background build working digital products and interactive systems.
Programming, AI collaboration, and industry integration develop together. Over time, course projects, cross-disciplinary co-supervision, field studies, and industry partnerships deepen the research and connect faculty expertise across the department.
Connect programming fundamentals with real project briefs, application settings, and professional development workflows. Practice requirements analysis, user scenarios, prototyping, version control, teamwork, testing, iteration, and validation.
